2010 World Expo in Shanghai – Düsseldorf will be there!

‘Better City – Better Life’, that’s the motto of the World Expo in Shanghai from 1 May to
31 October 2010.

For the first time in the history of the Expo, selected cities from all over the world will have the opportunity to present their approaches to ecologically and economically sustainable development and show how they intend to meet the challenges of the future.

Düsseldorf is representing Germany in the thematic area ‘Better City, Better Life’.

More than 70 million visitors are expected – a record number for an Expo. Event organisers estimate that around 3.5 million of these will come from abroad. However, this Expo will not only raise the bar with regard to the number of visitors; it will also set a new benchmark for the number of participants. To date, 185 countries, 46 international organisations and 35 cities and regions have registered for the event.
